NorCal Robotics - LaptopWheels

The LaptopWheels Robotic platform has been a testbed for NorCal Robotics for several years. It is a basic differential drive robot, hosting a laptop PC. It has gone through one major hardware revision since its first creation.

The "brains" of the LaptopWheels prototype is the laptop PC mounted onboard. This offers the flexibility to control the robot either through teleoperation, or autonomously, using machine vision to direct the robot programatically. The teleoperation tools can work either using a Windows client/server dedicated program, or using Java, the system can be controlled from an applet running in a web browser.

The LaptopWheels Robotic platform is a great learning tool. Using RoboRealm, it can run an array of different machine vision scripts to perform different behaviors.
